Although many US states have varying degrees of street legal LSV’s here in Canada the rules and regulations vary from Province to Province. A true LSV is only an LSV if the vehicle passess the requirements of the LSV vehicle class as listed on Transport Canada’s website. Even though an LSV model of vehicle is listed with Transport Canada it then must also be listed with the Ministry of Transportation of the Province in which it is intended to be used. To date only British Columbia, Quebec have supportive laws for driving LSV’s on public roads. Ontario has allowed them for limited use area’s as part of their study to verify the worthiness of their use on public roads. Each Province’s rules about LSV requirements for the road differ slightly to it is wise to learn before you buy. You can learn about Low Speed Vehicles in your Province by simply Googling “Low Speed Vehicles” and the name of your Province and look for the official Provincial Government Transportation website.
